The medical team at Michigan Pain Management Consultants (MPMC) consists of board certified pain management physicians, nurse practioners, registered nurses, a psychologist, Michigan Pain Management Consultants technicians and medical assistants. Through an inter-disciplinary team approach we strive to decrease or eliminate your pain, maximize your function, and restore self image.

We offer minimally invasive procedures, with or without anesthesia, to treat a wide variety of painful conditions. Dennis Dobritt, M.D.

Dr. Dennis Dobritt is a Pain Management Specialist with over 35 years experience evaluating and treating acute, chronic, and cancer pain conditions. He received his undergraduate education at Western Michigan University, graduating Magna Cum Laude, before pursuing his graduate studies in Chemistry and Mathematics at Eastern Michigan University. Following his medical studies at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Dobritt completed an Anesthesiology Residency and Pain Medicine Fellowship at Providence Hospital’s Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine in Southfield, Michigan. In addition to being board certified in Anesthesiology, Pain Medicine, and Interventional Pain, he also serves as a Diplomate to the American Board of Pain Medicine, the World Institute of Pain, and the American Board of Anesthesiology with added qualifications in Pain Medicine.

As a physician dedicated to the growth and understanding of pain management, Dr. Dobritt has been involved in the research of multiple medical studies and previously held the position of Director of Anesthesia Research for the Department of Anesthesiology for Providence Hospital’s Anesthesia Residency program. He has also published several papers and contributed chapters on various pain management topics to multiple books. Currently, Dr. Dobritt holds the position of Associate Clinical Professor for the Department of Surgical Specialties in Michigan State University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine where he has been a faculty member for over 30 years.

Throughout his tenure as a physician, Dr. Dobritt has been recognized for his expertise in his area of practice. This has included several Governor appointments to serve the State of Michigan, such as the Advisory Task Force for Pain and Symptom Management, Advisory Committee on Pain and Symptom Management, and the Michigan Osteopathic Board of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery. For several years of his time with the Michigan Osteopathic Board of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery, Dr. Dobritt acted as Vice-Chairmen and served as Chairman for his last year on the board. Dr. Dobritt has been the recipient of several honors and awards spanning his career, including listings in multiple years of Who’s Who in the World, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, Best Doc’s in America, and Hour Detroit’s Top Docs issue.

Jeffrey-Kimpson

Jeffrey Kimpson, M.D.
Medical Director

Dr. Kimpson is a native of Detroit, Michigan. In 1981, he graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry. Dr. Kimpson then attended the Wayne State University School of Medicine, from which he graduated in 1985. He was accepted into the Anesthesia Residency Program at Providence Hospital in Southfield, MI. in 1985. In addition to completing the Anesthesia Residency program, Dr. Kimpson completed specialized fellowships in both Pediatric Anesthesia (Detroit Children’s Hospital) and Pain Management in 1989. He joined the staff at Providence Hospital in September, 1989. His initial focus was the development and integration of the Anesthesia program for Pediatric Craniofacial Surgery.

Due to the explosive growth in the field of Pain Management, Dr. Kimpson decided to start a Pain Management practice in 1995. The goals of this practice are to enhance the quality of life in this patient population and improve their overall function. Dr. Kimpson is the Medical Director of Pain Management services at Providence Hospital. He has served in this capacity intermittently for the last fifteen years. Dr. Kimpson has vast experience in all facets of Pain Management including: medication management, interventional injections, spinal cord stimulation and the management of narcotic pain pumps. His specialized training and comprehensive approach to Pain Management have improved the lives of thousands of patients.

John Traylor, M.D.

Dr. John Traylor, III, is a native Detroiter. He specializes in the evaluation and management of acute and chronic painful conditions. He is one of the founders of Michigan Pain Management Consultants West, P.C. He has been providing pain management services and anesthesia care for patients at Providence Hospital and Medical Centers since 1984. Dr. Traylor completed his pre-med studies at the University of Michigan before graduating with his M.D. from Michigan State University. After graduating he began his pre-anesthesia training in surgery. He went on to complete a residency in anesthesia where he served as Chief Resident and was awarded Outstanding Resident of the Year on multiple occasions. He has also been awarded Outstanding Faculty of the Year. Dr. Traylor completed a fellowship in pain medicine. He is board certified as a Diplomate in the subspecialty of Pain Medicine, Anesthesia, and the American Academy of Pain Management. He has also been a Certified Independent Medical Examiner. Dr. Traylor is proud to make state of the art interventional pain management treatments and anesthesiology interventions available to his patients so they can enjoy a full and comfortable lifestyle.

Carmen Cirocco RN, BSN Practice Manager

Carmen Cirocco, born and raised in Michigan, received his bachelor’s degree in nursing from Madonna University. With over 20 years of expertise, he’s worked in the hospital and clinic setting as a registered nurse and administrator.

Carmen gained most of his experience working in intensive care, as well as pre/post-anesthesia care units, at Ascension Providence Hospital – Southfield campus.

A caregiver at heart, Carmen will still occasionally see patients in the office and assist physicians with sedation and monitoring during procedures. He is a generous team player and is willing to do whatever it takes to help the clinic reach their primary goal. Together, the MI Pain team works to decrease pain and maximize the potential of every individual in order to achieve the best possible quality of life.
