
Dennis Dobritt, M.D.
Dr. Dennis Dobritt is a Pain Management Specialist with over 35 years experience evaluating and treating acute, chronic, and cancer pain conditions. He received his undergraduate education at Western Michigan University, graduating Magna Cum Laude, before pursuing his graduate studies in Chemistry and Mathematics at Eastern Michigan University. Following his medical studies at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Dobritt completed an Anesthesiology Residency and Pain Medicine Fellowship at Providence Hospital’s Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine in Southfield, Michigan. In addition to being board certified in Anesthesiology, Pain Medicine, and Interventional Pain, he also serves as a Diplomate to the American Board of Pain Medicine, the World Institute of Pain, and the American Board of Anesthesiology with added qualifications in Pain Medicine.
As a physician dedicated to the growth and understanding of pain management, Dr. Dobritt has been involved in the research of multiple medical studies and previously held the position of Director of Anesthesia Research for the Department of Anesthesiology for Providence Hospital’s Anesthesia Residency program. He has also published several papers and contributed chapters on various pain management topics to multiple books. Currently, Dr. Dobritt holds the position of Associate Clinical Professor for the Department of Surgical Specialties in Michigan State University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine where he has been a faculty member for over 30 years.
Throughout his tenure as a physician, Dr. Dobritt has been recognized for his expertise in his area of practice. This has included several Governor appointments to serve the State of Michigan, such as the Advisory Task Force for Pain and Symptom Management, Advisory Committee on Pain and Symptom Management, and the Michigan Osteopathic Board of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery. For several years of his time with the Michigan Osteopathic Board of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery, Dr. Dobritt acted as Vice-Chairmen and served as Chairman for his last year on the board. Dr. Dobritt has been the recipient of several honors and awards spanning his career, including listings in multiple years of Who’s Who in the World, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, Best Doc’s in America, and Hour Detroit’s Top Docs issue.
